WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
At Whitepine. there are some key core values that help define & drive our ministry in the context of a warm & caring environment. These values shape who we are and what we do:
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Therefore, we seek to prayerfully discover and understand His will, desires, and plans in all things, and to live in such a way as to honour Him with our actions, speech, thoughts, and hearts. (Ephesians 1:22-23)
- We believe that churches should be led by people with godly leadership gifts, and that all Christians have been equipped by God to do ministry. Therefore, we seek to provide opportunities to train, encourage, and mobilize individuals to use their gifts for the good of the Whitepine community and the kingdom of God. (Acts 6:2-5; Ephesians 4:11-13)
- We believe that people were created to live in and need community. Therefore, we seek to be a fellowship that genuinely loves, values, and supports families and individuals at all stages of life. (Acts 2:44-46)
- We believe that lost people matter to God, and should matter to the church. Therefore, we seek to be involved in and support evangelism that begins with our neighbours and extends around the globe. (Luke 15; Matthew 28:18-20)
- We believe that God deserves the worship and praise of all creation. Therefore, we seek to honour Him in our corporate worship with joy, authenticity, energy, excellence, and a prayerful spirit. (John 4:23-24)
- We believe that Spirit anointed and Bible-centered preaching/teaching are essential for true growth and life change. Therefore, we seek to make available a variety of opportunities for people to hear, study, and interact with God’s Word. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:23-25)
- We believe that growth in spiritual maturity and devotion to Christ and His kingdom should be the norm for all believers. Therefore, we seek to better understand and grow in our commitment to and practice of stewardship, servanthood, mutual support, and the pursuit of kingdom goals. (Ephesians 4:13; Philippians 2:1-11)
- We believe that the church needs to be culturally relevant as it remains doctrinally pure. Therefore, we seek to affirm excellence, creativity, innovation, and grace in our ministry endeavours. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23; Colossians 3:17)
